Car stolen after thieves steal keys from Newport house
A car was stolen from a house in Newport after thieves broke into the property and took the keys.
The break in happened on Wednesday between 9am and 4pm on Forton Road in the town.
Police officers say the thieves forced their way into the house through the rear door.
They then helped themselves to jewellery before finding the car keys and making off with a black Audi S3.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them catch the offenders.
Pc Lee Thomas, of West Mercia Police said: "Our colleagues in the CID department at Malinsgate Police Station in Telford are appealing for anyone who may have seen people loitering or acting suspiciously in the Forton Road area on Wednesday to get in touch"
"We also know that a number of homes now have CCTV systems installed and would ask anyone in the area with cameras that may cover the frontages of their homes to get in touch.
"The offenders may have been captured whilst walking past"
