Pictures and video: Hundreds queue for opening of new Oswestry Aldi

Over 200 people queued to get into the new Aldi store which opened its doors in Oswestry this morning.

Aldi openend its latest store in Shrewsbury Road on Thursday this morning with one customer saying they had been waiting since 4.30am.

It is Aldi's second store in Oswestry and has created 30 jobs.

During the opening the Morton Minors Choir performed a range of festive songs and the first 100 shoppers in the queue were handed a golden envelope, containing a special prize voucher.

Customers will be in with the chance of winning a 40in HD TV, bluetooth headphones, Christmas gift packs and a range of other Aldi products.

Ms Gibbons said: "We are looking forward to the opening of our second store in Oswestry."
