Woman seriously injured in crash with scooter outside Telford pub
A woman in her 60s suffered a suspected fractured skull in a collision with a scooter outside a Telford pub, which saw the teenage rider come off his machine.
The incident happened outside the Plough Inn, in King Street, Wellington just after 9pm last night.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The collision took place right outside the pub and resulted in the rider coming off his machine.
"The woman in her 60s suffered a nasty head injury with a possible fracture to her skull. Due to the woman's condition, the doctors decided that she should be taken to the major trauma centre at Royal Stoke University Hospital. A doctor travelled with her in the ambulance.
"The 19-year-old rider was very shaken by the incident but was otherwise uninjured.
"His bike had suffered minimal damage. After being assessed by ambulance staff he was taken home by the police."
POlice said the collision involved a black Yamaha XC 115 scooter. Witnesses are asked to call police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 726s of Thursday, December 17.
