These striking images and video have been taken from a drone, by a firm that is one of the first in the country to be given permission to fly at night.

Telford-based 360Skylens Ltd has been given the go-ahead by the Civic Aviation Authority to operate after dark, following strict safety guidelines.

For its first flight, staff decided to use one of their two-person operation unmanned aerial vehicles to capture a selection of stills and video from the air to show Southwater all decorated for Christmas.

The company has been operating drones for more than eight years and now hopes to expand its work to capture a series of after-dark images.

Paul Watkins, director of 360Skylens, said "We thought a flight at Southwater this time of year is a great way to start as nobody has seen Southwater from this angle before."
