Two pick-up trucks were broken into overnight on Saturday and a number of expensive tools were taken.

Thieves forced their way into a box in the rear of an Isuzu pick-up parked in Barnmeadow Road, taking a Sthil saw and chainsaw worth approximately £550.

On the same night the rear window was smashed on a Mitsubishi pick-up in Water Lane, with tools worth around £600 being taken.

Pc Lee Thomas of West Mercia Police said: "On both of these occasions the offenders will have made a considerable amount of noise whilst trying to get into the vehicles, both of which were parked in residential streets.

"We are hopeful that someone may have been woken up by the noise or may have seen people acting suspiciously in the street.

"We would ask those people to come forward and help us find the people responsible for these crimes."

These latest two crimes come after similar thefts in the Stafford Road and Station Road areas of the town in the last four to six weeks.
