Multiple roads around Shropshire's borders with Powys and Herefordshire are underwater today as the wet weather continues to cause misery for motorists.

The B4362 between Presteigne and Combe is closed in both directions because of flooding at the junction for Lower Kinsham, with Dyfed-Powys Police warning motorists to avoid the area as cars are getting stuck.

Firefighters from Presteigne had to be called out to help rescue passengers from one vehicle that got stuck in flood water on the road this morning (THU).

Meanwhile the A4110 near Leominster is also closed in both directions between the junction with the main A44 and the B4529 junction near Shirl Heath, again because of flooding.

Further north the A4113 continues to be closed in both directions around the junction with Reeves Lane, near Bucknell. The road has been closed since Monday.

A spokesman for Herefordshire Council said: "Always keep safe during flooding, always focus on the safety of yourself and your family."

"Do not underestimate the danger and damage that a flood can cause. Flood water can be very dangerous – six inches of fast-flowing water can knock you off your feet and two feet can sweep away a car."
