Elizabeth Perceval, known as Liz, lived in Condover, near Shrewsbury, and died aged 68 in November. She was the last remaining descendent of British Prime Minister Spencer Perceval, and also related to George James Perceval who served with Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar when he was just 11 years old.

Now more then 140 items, many from the history of the family, are to go under the hammer across two dates in Leominster. Items include a print of the scene of Spencer Perceval being assassinated, published the year of his death in 1812. He remains the only British Prime Minister to have have been assassinated while in office, shot at the heart of Westminster by John Bellingham, who was arrested and hung just a week later.

Roger Williams, auctioneer and valuer at Brightwells, holding the sale, said the medals, belonging to George James Perceval, were of national importance.

A 19th century bracket clock by J and A Jump of London, is expected to fetch about £3,000. "It's quite an impressive and imposing-looking thing," Mr Williams said.

Both sales will be held at Brightwells saleroom at Easters Court, Leominster, the first on January 20, the second on March 16.
