The crash happened on the A41, just north of Newport, when the bird struck a car today at about 12pm.

The pheasant was then thrown into the path of an oncoming pick-up truck, causing it to swerve.

The bird was then thrown into the path of a 40-tonne lorry, damaging it, and causing it to clip the rear of the pick-up truck.

Altogether two cars were involved, including the pick-up truck and the lorry in the accident.

None of the drivers were injured, however the bird did not survive.

Traffic was only delayed for a short time while police made the area safe.
