Make a dash for the cash in our £20,000 community giveaway
Good causes across Shropshire and Mid Wales are once again in line to get a share of our £20,000 dream fund as Cash For Your Community returns.
Once more the Shropshire Star has teamed up with our partners at county-based Enterprise Flex-E-Rent to distribute thousands of pounds among charities and community groups which make a vital difference to people's lives.
Last year, the £20,000 fund was shared among more than 40 good causes, ranging from keep-groups for senior citizens, through sports and social clubs and youth organisations, to charities supporting people with life-changing illnesses.

Projects to improve the environment, ranging from the Shrewsbury & Newport Canals Trust which used its grant to generate match-funding for the restoration of two historic warehouses at Wappenshall Wharf, near Apley, to the Marches School in Oswestry which used it for a nature trail, also benefited from a slice of the fund.
The biggest recipient of last year's Cash For Your Community was Cottage Care Trust in Wellington, which provides day care services for people with disabilities and medical needs. The charity received £2,460 which it said would be used for special activities for people who use the centre.
Radnor Valley Little Dragons day nursery, in Presteigne, received £2,407 for a gardening project.
The Harry Johnson Trust received £1,979 for its work supporting children with cancer, while Hope House Children's Hospices received £904.
This year's competition will run alongside the same lines as last year.
Tokens will then be printed each day in the Shropshire Star, and the money will be shared out according to how many tokens each group collects.
Shropshire Star editor Martin Wright said he was delighted to be working with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent for the second Cash For Your Community campaign.
"It has been a pleasure seeing how the scheme has been able to make such a difference to so many people," he said.
"Many excellent groups took part last year, organisations which do not necessarily get the publicity and funding of the larger charities, but which nevertheless do excellent work in our communities, often for very little recognition.
"We're hoping to build on the success of last year's Cash For Your Community, and help thousands of people in and around Shropshire."
