Crash between two lorries closes Welshpool to Shrewsbury road
The main road between Shrewsbury and Welshpool was blocked for almost five hours after two lorries were involved in a crash.
The A458 was closed between Welshpool and Middletown after the crash, which happened at about 4.40amthis morning near Trewern.
Dyfed-Powys Police spokewoman Katy Simmons said: "Police attended a road traffic collision involving two HGV lorries on the A458 Middletown to Welshpool road this morning.
There were no injuries.
"The road was blocked and diversions were put in place. Both lorries required recovery.
"The council attended to clean and clear the road, and the road re-opened at 9.20am."
Diversions were put in place during the road closure, sending the rush hour traffic on the A483 via Oswestry and the A5 via Shrewsbury.
