Crews tackle house fire near Shrewsbury
Four crews tackled a house fire in a village near Shrewsbury this afternoon.
Crews were deployed from Shrewsbury, Minsterley and Bishop's Castle to the terraced house in Drury Lane, Minsterley, at 2.20pm.
The fire was confined to the roof space of the house, which was unoccupied at the time.
Hose jets were used to damp down the flames and crews checked for hot spots.
An aerial ladder platform was also sent to the scene but was not needed.
An operations officer and officers from West Mercia Police were in attendance.
The alarm was after smoke was seen.
A spokeswoman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said: "Control room was informed of a house fire at a domestic property at 2.20pm. The fire involved the roof space of the property, which was empty at the time.
"Four fire appliances were sent to the scene from Bishop's Castle, Minsterley and Shrewsbury and crews worked at damping down and flames and treating hot spots."
