Welshpool Town Councillors Estelle Bleivas, Heather Chave and Hazel Evans were reported to the Public Services Ombudsman for Wales after claims they broke the council's code of conduct.

The complaint to the ombudsman stemmed from a meeting of the Welshpool branch of the Royal British Legion in November.

All three have now been told they will not face any further investigations.

A Public Services Ombudsman for Wales spokesman said: "Last month, the Ombudsman received a complaint against three Welshpool town councillors – Heather Chave, Hazel Evans and Estelle Bleivas – concerning whether they had breached the council's code of conduct.

"Following assessment, it has been decided that in the cases of Councillor Chave and Evans, there was no evidence of a breach of code.

"In the case of Councillor Bleivas it has been decided it is not in the public interest to investigate this matter."

Councillor Evans did not want to comment while Councillors Chave and Bleivas were not available for comment.
