Teenager denies Shrewsbury murder attempt

A teenager denied a charged of attempted murder in Shrewsbury when he appeared in court.

Paul Crossland, 18, of Speke, Liverpool, is accused of the attempted murder of a man.

The teenager confirmed his name and entered a plea of not guilty when he appeared before Stafford Crown Court.

The case was adjourned and Crossland will next appear for trial at a date to be fixed. He was remanded in custody.

Two other 18-year-old men from Liverpool were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but no further action was taken.

A 17-year-old male from Shrewsbury, who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, remains on bail until April 7.

The arrests relate to an incident in the Meole Brace area of Shrewsbury on November 15, where a 19-year-old man was discovered in a pool of blood by members of the public.
