Watch: Take a drive along the Newtown bypass . . . before it's built

Work has only just started on Newtown's £56 million bypass but you can take a drive along it now . . . in the virtual world.

Contractors Alun Griffiths Ltd created a series of animations to show how the bypass, which is designed to end to delays on the route through Mid Wales used by thousands of Shropshire drivers heading to the Welsh coast each year.

Work started yesterday on the road, which will stretch four miles from Llanidloes Road in the west of the town, to Pool Road in the east. It is expected to be completed by March 2018.
