Swansong for those Shropshire chilly days
Spring is about to be sprung – for a few days at least. Shropshire and Mid Wales will be enveloped in warm air coming from the Azores.
That means the potential for more sunny scenes, like this one captured by Rebecca Stanley-Stanford at Aqualate Mere near Newport. Temperatures are likely to be in the low teens by the weekend, a welcome break from the chilly mornings our region has experienced recently.
The Met Office says there will be more sun and increasingly mild conditions, with levels rising from Thursday as the tropical maritime air travels northwards. By Sunday, we could be basking in highs of a relatively balmy 14C (57F).
Met Office spokeswoman Lindsay Mears said: "Spring began on the first of March but what you might think of as spring weather is finally starting. It will start to feel much warmer and will stay mild."
