The fires, one in Oswestry and one in Shrewsbury, both happened at about 3.30pm yesterday.
The first in Middleton Road, Oswestry, broke out at 3.35pm and involved a build up of fat from an oven.
Firefighters were called but discovered it was out on arrival, though they gave one male casualty oxygen therapy for slight smoke inhalation.
Around the same time firefighters from Baschurch and Shrewsbury were called to Upper Road Meole Brace, Shrewsbury.
The second kitchen fire involved cooking left on the hob and broke out at 3.45pm.
A fire blanket was used to extinguish the fire before the firefighters' arrival.
