Apartments plan may be cut back at Southwater in Telford
The number of apartments planned to be built at Telford's new Southwater development could be scaled back by more than half.
Originally Telford & Wrekin Council planned on building 153 apartments at the development. But it says it now plans to cut that by 100. The changes have been made after a review of the sites by council officers.
The scheme is part of Telford & Wrekin Council's £50 million scheme to build more than 400 homes in the borough.
The council announced earlier this week it would be dropping two sites earmarked for development in Woodside and Hollinswood as they would cost too much to build the foundations or add noise-protection.
However more homes will be added in Hadley and at Matlock Avenue in Dawley.
A report will be put to the council's cabinet on Thursday, which proposes updating the existing business plan for its company NuPlace, which manages the properties.
