Tributes to teenager killed in crash between car and lorry
A popular teenager who was killed in a crash will be remembered for his smile, friends and teachers said today.
David Lloyd was travelling on the A470 near Llanidloes
.
The emergency services were called but the teenager from Llangurig died at the scene.
His family issued a short statement saying that David was the much-loved son of Roy and Angela, adored brother of Sophie and Gwynie and loving grandson to Gladys and Gwyn Perks.
A statement said: "David was a keen snooker and pool player and enjoyed spending time with his friends.
"He will be sorely missed by all who knew him."
Teachers and colleagues today paid a moving tribute to the 19-year-old who was a former pupil at Llanidloes High School.
Jane Jerman, head of sixth form at the school, said Mr Lloyd was a "polite, pleasant and unassuming young man".
She said: "David completed his education here at Llanidloes in 2014. He was well-liked by all members of staff, and made many good friendships here.
"He was a polite, pleasant and unassuming young man who was keen to do the best that he could. He was a pleasure to teach and his loss will be deeply felt.

"Whilst in sixth form, he trained as a peer mentor and provided support for younger pupils at lunchtime in the Smile Club, appropriately named as David's smile is something we will all remember."
Matthew Young, Mr Lloyd's former head of Year 11, said: "His willingness to work and assist his fellow students was a credit to him, especially towards the examination period, where he achieved excellent GCSE results.
"He was a great Manchester United fan and an excellent goalkeeper for the school.
"He had a big beaming smile for every situation and you couldn't help smiling along with him, and that is a memory that I will treasure."
Mr Lloyd had been working as a maintenance apprentice at Randall Parker Foods in Llanidloes. Dale Williams, general manager at Randall Parker Foods in Llanidloes, said: "David was a well respected, nice young lad with a bright future ahead of him.
"Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time."
The accident happened at approximately 6.40am on Tuesday. Dyfed-Powys Police are now investigating the two-vehicle road collision and are appealing for witnesses to call 101.
