A number of flowers have been uprooted from planters in the town for the second time this month.
Floral displays put together by Newport In Bloom were destroyed in the town centre earlier in the month and now planters on the canal bridge have been targeted.
Constable Lee Thomas of the town's safer neighbourhood team said: "More of the Newport in Bloom planters have been attacked and plants and bulbs ripped out, this time on the canal bridge.
"Newport in Bloom volunteers put a lot of time and effort into improving our town. Help us identify those responsible."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
