Farzana Akhtar Raja, 26, was found with small amounts of the drug after police raided the same address in Hadley, twice within four months.

Mr Adam Warner, prosecuting, told Telford Magistrates Court that on both September 2 and December 11 last year, police executed separate drugs warrants.

On the first raid, a small amount of cannabis was found.

On the second occasion, Raja, now of Chockleys Meadow in Leegomery, volunteered that she had "weed" in a suitcase in her room and sniffer dogs also found sealed bags of the drug between filters of the cooker hood as well as seizing a cannabis grinder and money.

Mr Warner said that the reason it had taken so long for the case to appear at court was because police had been trying to see if there was any evidence of supplying drugs.

Due to a lack of evidence, Raja was charged with two counts of possession, which she admitted at the first available opportunity.

Mr Mahmood Khan, for Raja, said she had admitted that the drugs were for her personal use and she had been taking them for pain relief for chronic back pain.

Raja was fined £8 and ordered to pay £100 costs and a victim surcharge of £20 for both charges.
