Woman assaulted by passer-by after Telford crash
A woman was assaulted by a female passer-by after she was involved in a car accident in Telford.
The assault happened on Monday at about 4pm near Madeley Academy on Castlefields Way, after the 46-year-old victim had been involved in an accident.
The victim was out of her car and speaking to the driver of the other vehicle involved.
While she was talking to the driver another woman walking past attacked the woman, leaving her with bruising and swelling to her left eye.
The offender is described as a white woman approximately 5ft 6ins, with mousy blonde curly hair.
At the time of the incident she was wearing a grey hooded top and grey jogging bottoms. She was also carrying a JD Sports bag.
This woman is not believed to be known to the victim, nor was she involved in the car accident.
Following the incident, the offender then met up with pupils from the nearby Madeley Academy school and walked off from the area.
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and did not require hospital treatment.
Investigating officer Pc Ian Cole, said: "This incident occurred at a busy time of day as pupils were leaving the nearby school, if you saw anything please come forward.
"This was a seemingly random attack and we are investigating this matter thoroughly."
