Bedforshire Police has been asked to investigate how the explosives came to be in a batch of weapons being collected for a knife angel sculpture at the centre which were donated by various police forces.
The centre, which was closed on Thursday afternoon with a 100 metre cordon thrown around it, was reopened to the public yesterday morning.
Ben Knowles, operations director, said: "After the events of Thursday, we are now open again as usual."
A campaign is under way to see the knife angel, being created by sculpturer Alfie Bradley, mounted on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square in London.
