Chaos on the trains between Shrewsbury and Hereford after car crashes onto line
A car crashed onto a railway line, causing delays and cancellations to trains from Shrewsbury.
The car went down an embankment of Old School Lane in Hereford, which sent problems down the line to Shrewsbury.
The accident happened at about 7am, with Network Rail staff immediately dispatched to help clear the line.
Arriva Trains Wales arranged replacement bus services to stations affected but the line was reopened by 8.30am.
Delayed trains included services run by London Midland and Great Western Railway which were forced to stop at other stations.
A spokesman for Network Rail said: "We were first notified by Cardiff control at 7.11am that they were dealing with a car on the line between Hereford and Shelwick Junction.
"The car was cleared by 8.35am and in the meantime Great Western Railway and London Midland terminated at Ledbury."
British Transport Police have said the 30-year-old driver of the car will face no further action.
