Runner Amy, originally from West Felton near Oswestry, is aiming to beat the world record for the most miles run on a treadmill in seven days - which currently stands at 517 miles.

She is hoping to cover 530 miles, without moving from the machine.

It will mean that Amy will have to run three marathons every day for seven days.

She has not revealed the exact date her challenge will begin but Amy says she will complete the challenge in September in Manchester, where she now works.

She said: "It is going to be a really hard challenge. I am not a treadmill runner so it will be tough mentally as well as physically."

The 28-year-old will be raising funds for her charity, The 53 Foundation, which helps to promote sport.

Amy has also encouraged people to join her for the task and said she hopes the event will inspire more people to take up exercise.

Speaking in a YouTube video posted on her Twitter account she said: "I want to continue what I try to inspire, I want other people to get out, be active, whether you want to walk a mile, run a mile, I just want people to get involved."

In 2014 the athlete shot to national prominence when she ran 53 marathons in 53 days to set a world record, at the same time raising £53,000 for the Isabelle Lottie Foundation, which supports the families of children with or recovering from brain tumours.

She was also nominated for a Pride of Britain award for her efforts.

Details of her latest world record attempt will be posted on her social media accounts, including Twitter @53Marathons and on YouTube
