Shropshire family in appeal for specialist car seat so son can travel without pain

A family is appealing for help to get a specialist car seat for their son – the seat will help him travel without pain.

Logan Bradley has a form of cerebral palsy and needs a new car seat which will allow him and his family to be able to go about their everyday life.

A car accident a few months ago means the five year old can no longer use the car seat which had been keeping him safe – the same high street model is no longer available.

After searching for a replacement, parents Anna Wilcox and Simon Bradley, of Newport, realised only a specialist version can provide their son with the right support and extra features he needs.

Now the Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children is looking for local heroes who can help the family.

The charity has already donated £440 towards this vital piece of equipment, which costs £1,320, but still needs a further £880.

Mum Anna said: "After the car accident we had no option but to get him a high street car seat, but he is over the weight for this now and I'm not sure how safe he would be in it if we did have an accident as he's not supported properly, which also isn't good for his posture long-term.

"Logan is usually a happy little boy with a massive smile – everyone says his smile makes their day – but at the moment he gets upset at the thought of going into his car seat.

"Having the specialist car seat would mean Logan is pain free and more comfortable on car journeys. We would have more freedom and could go different places with him and his seven-year-old sister, Faye.

"Logan would be much safer in the car. I can't emphasise how much we need this."
