Unsung heroes who help make our county such a special place were being celebrated at the ninth annual Pride of Shropshire Awards.

At the beginning of the year we asked you, our readers, to nominate people who you think deserve recognition - our judging panel selected the finalists in each of the nine categories and the line-up was announced at the beginning of October.
Our chosen finalists, along with our sponsors, were invited to Monday night's special awards ceremony at Shrewsbury Town FC.
