Shrewsbury Half Marathon: Entries open for the 2017 event
Runners are set to make a fast start to sign up for the Shrewsbury Half Marathon which has opened for entries.
The 2017 half marathon, which last year attracted almost 2,000 athletes, takes place on June 18.
It starts from Shropshire County Showground and runners will head along the river to the Quarry park.
They then run through the town centre before heading out over the English Bridge.
Runners then complete a loop in the Kingsland estate and return to the town centre.
They will then climb the gruelling slope of Wyle Cop before heading out of town.
The second half of the race heads out into the countryside along Ellesmere Road to Huffley Lane.
Entrants will finally arrive back at the Berwick Road-based showground 13.1 miles later.
Organised by UKRun Chat, the race attracts runners from all over the country.
Early bird entry fees are being offered. Non affiliated runners can register for £24.50 and UKA affiliated runners for £22.50.
