Final plans put in for 200 Telford homes
Final plans have been submitted for a development of more than 200 homes in Telford.
A reserved matters application has been put forward outlining the design for 220 homes in Priorslee.
Initial plans for the development off Gatcombe Way in Priorslee have already been approved.
But new documents have been submitted to Telford & Wrekin Council outlining the final design of the development, to be built by Lovell.
Outline planning permission for the development was originally granted in July 2009 and a subsequent application was approved in September 2014 which modified one of the conditions to extend the time limit for the development
If approved, the development will be made up of 24 two bed homes, 101 three bed homes, and 49 three bed homes for sale on the open market.
A further 24 two bedroom, 16 three bedroom, and three four bedroom homes will be made available for social rent. And seven two bed and three three bedroom homes will be put up for purchase through shared ownership.
A planning statement, submitted to the council says: "Proposed dwellings are mainly two storey in height, however the scheme incorporates a number of bungalows, two storey apartments accessed independently and a limited number of three storey properties to punctuate key points within the site.
"Overall this dtatement has demonstrated that the proposed development is compliant with both national and local planning policy. It is considered that there are no other planning reasons why planning consent should be withheld and therefore it is respectfully requested that planning permission is granted."
Access to the site is to be taken through existing points from York Road, Highgate Drive and Lambeth Drive and from existing side road junctions along York Road and Hereford Drive, with new traffic calming measures on York Road.
Each home will have provided off-road parking.
A design and access statement said: "The site is well contained and is contiguous with adjacent residential developments. Development of the site would offer a logical addition to Priorslee without disproportionately altering the overall built form envelope.
"The site, with minimal work, is readily accessible by local adopted highway with good network opportunities via public and vehicular transport, existing footpaths which will in turn promote sustainable modes of travel. "
The application was made on Wednesday and will be decided in the coming months.
