Tributes paid to Bridgnorth farmer ahead of funeral
Tributes have poured in for a farmer ahead of his funeral.
Andrew Green went missing from Yew Tree Farm in Chorley, near Bridgnorth, in June last year, and last month DNA results confirmed a body found in March in woodland in Billingsley was that of Mr Green.
An online page was set up to keep the public updated while Mr Green was missing and now tributes have been paid to him online.
Amongst the tributes were old friends from college and people who had never met Mr Green.
Rebecca Louise Gaskin said: "I was at Walford College with Andrew many years ago.
"He was always the person that would put a smile on our faces in class and I'll never forget his grin so warm and caring with a bit of cheeky in his eyes. He was a kind friend to me at college and will never forget him."
Wendy Boswell said: "I never knew Andrew but have followed from the beginning, my heart goes out to his family, it's a very sad and difficult time for you all but I hope you can find some peace and I hope that the live and support and messages from family, friends, your community and people who you don't know bring you a little comfort.
"RIP Andrew, I've no doubt you will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved you, I wish you eternal peace. Thinking of you all."
Paul Passant said: "Such sad news, like so many I went on the search hoping for a better outcome. My thoughts and prayers are with Andrew's family at this sad time."
Gillian Fox said: "I am so sorry for hearing the bad news my thoughts and love go out to his family and friends at this sad time I knew Andrew from my time at collage and have the pleasure in saying he was a friend I have so many good memories of him.
"He always had a way of making people laugh and the mischief we caused will always make me smile. He was a good person with a good heart and will be missed by so many."
Kat Foy said: "Andrew I so wish I had the chance to meet you I am so sad I never got that chance, I did get the chance to meet your parents, sisters friends and your community and I can say I was treated with so much kindness I feel so very humble.
"When your name was spoken it was so very easy for me to see what a very special man you where and how much love there is for you, I know when the stars shine the brightest star will be you, you will be shining so bright, sleep tightly."
Mr Green's funeral will take place on Friday at 2.30pm at St Mary’s Church in Stottesdon.
Donations will benefit Midlands Air Ambulance, Missing People, and St Mary’s Church in Stottesdon.
