A queue built of cars trying to get in and out of the multi-storey car park attached to the shopping centre, close to House of Fraser.

The problem happened at about 4pm today and led to delays of up to 20 minutes.

Shopper Karen Knowles, 57, said she was stuck for 15 minutes: "A queue built and people were beeping their horns because they didn't know what was happening.

"One of the workers told me that it was a problem that had affected a lot of car parks.

"Somebody went to go to customer services and apparently there were about 20 people there complaining that there was a problem with the barriers. It was very frustrating."

Glyn Morrow, manager of Telford Shopping Centre said: "All we are aware is that there was a software glitch which was resolved.

"It was sorted in a matter of minutes."
