Flood alerts and ice warnings for Shropshire
There are flood alerts and an ice warning in place for Shropshire today .
The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning for ice from 4pm this afternoon through until tomorrow morning as temperatures are expected to dip.
This follows a warning rain and snow over Boxing Day night and into this morning, although Shropshire missed the worst of the conditions which arrived elsewhere in the West Midlands and parts of Mid Wales.
The Upper Teme, Ledwyche Brook and River Rea, River Arrow and River Worfe are all subject to alerts warning that flooding is possible.
There are no reports of any serious flooding at this stage.
There has been some snow causing traffic problems just over the Shropshire border in south Powys.
Nationwide thousands were left without power as wintry weather swept in overnight, with Western Power Networks saying more than 14,000 properties had been cut off.
The forecast is for Thursday to be generally be drier and day with slightly less wind, although it will remain cold. Wet and windy weather is expected to return for the weekend, raising the risk of some flooding
