Shropshire weather: Snow turns to sleet - with pictures
Snow falling in Shropshire and Mid Wales this morning was expected to turn to sleet later, with a cold and breezy day in prospect.
The Met office issued a yellow warning for snow and ice from 5am to midday, plus a similar warning for Sunday from 5-11am.
It said that after a cloudy start, with some outbreaks of sleet or snow, it would become drier, with plenty of sunshine into the afternoon. although there remains a chance of a few snow showers.
A north-westerly breeze means it will feel cold, with a maximum temperature of 5°C.

Any showers will die away this evening and it will quickly turn cold under clear skies, with a widespread frost expected.
Tomorrow cloud and rain will quickly push in from the west through the morning and then persist for much of the day, with a maximum temperature of 8°C.
On Sunday scattered wintry showers are expected, with ice likely to form on untreated pavements, cycle paths and roads. Some roads and railways are likely to be affected.
