Lorry and car in head-on crash on A49 in Ludlow
Motorists on a busy road faced delays in Ludlow after a lorry and a car crashed head on this afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the A49 at its junction with the B461 at Overton at about 1.30pm when the small flat-bed truck was involved in a collision with a four-wheel drive motor.
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Murray MacGregor said the elderly driver of the 4x4 was taken to hospital after a check up at the scene, while the flat-bed driver did not need to go to hospital.
"Both drivers were out of the vehicle and both were fit and well and given check ups.
"One male was conveyed as a precaution to Hereford County Hospital," he said.
The car sustained front end damage and the air bag was activated during the smash.
