Traffic was diverted from the scene, in High Street, as an ambulance crew and police attended following the incident which happened at about 3.30pm on Thursday.

The collision is thought to have happened on a speed hump outside Telford Amateur Boxing Club at the junction with Station Road.

Several business owners told The Shropshire Star that they only realised something was wrong when traffic started to queue on the one-way system.

Flares Hairdressing manager Neomi Owen said: "We didn't see the accident happen, but it involved a bike and a bus.

"We noticed that the traffic stopped. Then after a while the motorists coming up diverted down the side street. There was a man lying in the road. Then the ambulance and police came.

"The road was closed for about half an hour."

The High Street was reopened by 4pm.
