Town's 10k race is fast approaching
A town will put runners to the test as it looks to host its fourth annual 10k.
The fourth Sir John Talbot's Whitchurch 10k road race is fast approaching and tickets are now on sale to take part.
Starting and finishing at Sir John Talbot's School, the course races through the streets of Whitchurch and even includes a couple of short hills to challenge runners.
It is confined to roads within the boundaries of the historic market town.
The town centre, with its half-timbered buildings, bustling pubs and the imposing Georgian Grade I listed St Alkmund’s Church will form part of the course, where it is hoped the residents of the town and visitors alike, will congregate to shout, cheer and encourage all runners.
Race Director Hayley Alldridge said: "I hope residents will support the runners as they make their way around the town – each year the support gets better and better.
"I never imaged just how popular this event would be. I am proud to be part of it and seeing so many people take up an active lifestyle in order to take part.

A number of roads in the town will be closed during the race in order to keep the runners safe. Roads will close at 9.45am and reopen around 11am – anyone wanting to travel out of Whitchurch will be re-directed.
