It will be a chance for people to find out about the varied projects carried out by volunteers at Shropshire Archives, which is based in Shrewsbury.

It will also include a look behind the scenes, with volunteers demonstrating their skills and with unique documents on show.

The event is from 10am to 1pm and places must be booked, with tickets at £5 each.

Meanwhile the summer programme for the Friends of Shropshire Archives includes a visit to Aldenham Park, near Bridgnorth, on May 5, and to Pitchford Hall, near Shrewsbury, on August 20.

The group's annual meeting on June 24 is at the Shrewsbury premises of Shropshire Wildlife Trust and will be followed by a lecture by Dr Nigel Baker, titled "Down by the Riverside; exploring Shrewsbury Abbey and its Severn waterfront."
