The relay starts this month in Yorkshire and will take in Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales, before finishing in Cornwall on October 2.

Riders, carriage-drivers, long-reiners, pedestrians and cyclists are all taking part on routes of their own choice in each region.

The Great Horses for Health Relay aims to celebrate how horses have given support during the Covid-19 pandemic, while also raising money for, and promoting awareness of, the huge positive impact from horses for mental health, horse and other vulnerable road users' safety and awareness, and equine rescue and welfare.

All participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship for their rides, which will be split between seven equine welfare and equestrian charities.

The UK has been divided into 11 regions over five months with participants able to choose their own route in their local area.

The relay will be in Wales from July 11 to 24, and then in Shropshire and the West Midlands from July 25 to August 7.
