Police remember fallen comrade 38 years on
West Mercia Police Federation has paid tribute to an officer who died in service while training his police dog on this day 38 years go.
PC Ashley Burchell was just 38 when he collapsed and died on May 11, 1985.
West Mercia Police branch chair Barry Horton said: “We remember Ashley and on the anniversary of his death as we do all our fallen colleagues.
“Our thoughts are with Ashley’s family, friends and former colleagues.”
