The 31 year-old had served in the Wrexham Rural Team since 2018 and when he died while off duty in December 2022 he left his mum, Linda, dad, Barry and sister Cara as well as a team of grieving officers who described him as a 'very dear colleague'.
At the weekend police officers, staff, volunteers and partners lit up Moel Famau, the highest hill in the Clwydian Range, on an annual blue light walk to raise awareness of mental health.
The event, also attended by other blue light services, is held each year in memory of PC Donaldson.
It was a spot he enjoyed walking with his friends and family.
