Ben Egerton, aged 39, drove a BMW 1 Series on Shrewsbury Road, Wem on September 28.
A breathalyser test found he had 144 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal drink drive limit in England and Wales is 35mcg.
Egerton, of Lower Road, Harmer Hill, near Shrewsbury pleaded guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court an earlier hearing in October to driving while above the specified alcohol limit.
He returned to the same court to be sentenced after a pre-sentence report had been ordered.
Deputy District Judge James Hulse banned him from driving for four years and fined him £2,018.
The judge also ordered Egerton to pay £85 in prosecution costs.
