Casualty cut free and given oxygen after three-vehicle crash in Bridgnorth

A casualty was cut free and given oxygen after a crash in Bridgnorth this evening.

Paramedics, police officers and firefighters rushed to the scene of the three-vehicle collision, which happened on Stourbridge Road.

One person was stuck in a vehicle and had to be cut free and given first aid.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "At 5.49pm on Monday, November 4, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a road traffic collision had taken place in Bridgnorth involving three vehicles. 

"One person mechanically trapped. Crews used Holmatro cutting equipment and gave first aid and oxygen therapy. All vehicles made safe by crew."

Two fire engines and a rescue tender were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock and Wellington. An operations officer was also in attendance.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of a three car RTC on Stourbridge Road, Bridgnorth at 5.41pm. We sent one ambulance to the scene where, upon arrival, crews found a man, who was the driver of the car. He was treated for injuries not thought to be serious before being conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital. There were no other patients.”
