Severn Valley Home Care moved into Lasyard House in the town earlier this year.

The care provider is run by Jackie Garrett, who each year crams shoeboxes full of goodies to send to children less fortunate at Christmas time.

This year, she persuaded business centre owner Marco Mustone to lend a hand and the pair have prepared dozens of shoeboxes set to make their way to South Africa.

Jackie said: “We fill a shoebox full of gifts for children from colouring pens to games and toiletries. Most are heading to South Africa for children that are not as fortunate as say my children are.

“Many of the donations for the shoeboxes have come from my staff, who I can't thank enough. “Last year we only managed to fill a few shoeboxes but thanks to Marco we now have lots more.”

Marco, whose business centre in Underhill Street contains 52 businesses, said: “We have some very good businesses like Jackie's that do lovely things like this, so I didn't hesitate to get involved.

“It has been really good fun, putting them together and thinking through what I was going to get for the kids really good fun.”
