Firefighters called to Telford nursery and infant school after fire breaks out

Firefighters were called to a Telford infant school and nursery to deal with a bush fire.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 3.34pm reporting the fire in the open at Wrockwardine Wood Infant School & Nursery.

One fire crew was sent from Telford Central Fire Station to the scene. 

The fire service has reported that bushes were alight at the nursery and infant school, and that the fire measured approximately one metre by one metre.

Crews used buckets of water and knapsacks to deal with the incident and extinguish the fire. 

The incident concluded at 4.02pm.
