CQS Solutions and Bowen Consultants quantity surveyors of Telford and Welshpool were involved in the construction of a new building at Ysgol y Graig in Llangefni for client, Isle of Anglesey Council.

Now Tim Lloyd, managing director, and senior quantity surveyor Alwyn Williams are back at the school as part of a programme to encourage enterprise skills and link children with people in industry and business.

The new Foundation Phase building at Ysgol y Graig opened earlier this year creating spaces for 150 more primary age children.  Its net zero design means it uses no more energy than it generates.

Alwyn Williams said it had been a fascinating project to work on and he was delighted when the company had been invited back to take part in the 2B Enterprising scheme at the school.

The scheme supports the development of enterprise skills dealing with themes such as sustainability, wellbeing, inclusion and diversity. It also links school with a business partner to sponsor the sessions.

Tim and Alwyn took part in the first of three sessions with pupils recently when the six and seven year olds were finding out about networking.

“It was great to be back and really interesting to talk to such a lively group of youngsters about what we do and how we were involved in their school,” said Alwyn.
