Firefighters called after delivery van crashes into pillar in Telford Asda understore car park

Shropshire firefighters were called to a huge Telford supermarket after a delivery van crashed into a pillar in the understore car park.

Firefighters from Telford Central station were called to the understore car park of Asda in Telford town centre at just after 9pm on Friday.

An image circulating on social media shows an Asda delivery van having crashed into one of the support pillars in the car park.

The crew from Shropshire Fire and Rescue worked to make the van safe, and reported the incident was under control by 9.40pm.

According to the incident log, an environmental grab pack was also used by the firefighters, indicating there had been a fuel or oil spill. 

Asda and West Mercia Police have been approached for comment.
