Firefighters called after fly-tipped sofa catches fire in woodland in Telford

Firefighters were called to a woodland area in Telford after a fly-tipped sofa caught fire.

The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received a call at 4.58pm on Saturday reporting the incident in Stirchley. 

One fire crew from Telford Central Fire Station was sent to the scene.

Firefighters discovered one sofa alight and "fully involved in fire". The furniture has been fly-tipped according to SRFS.

The fire was extinguished using a knapsack sprayer.

The incident concluded at 5.16pm the same day.
