Man arrested after driver hit by jack handle 'thrown through passenger window' after altercation in Telford

Police are appealing for information after a driver had their car window smashed in an incident on a road in Telford.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage after the driver of a car reportedly had a jack handle thrown through the window of his vehicle. 

West Mercia Police said the incident, which involved the drivers of two cars, happened at around 10.50am close to the Shell garage on the B5061, Holyhead Road in Ketley.

A spokesperson for the force said: "A man smashed a front driver side window of a vehicle before getting back in his own car.

"Both vehicles continued along the road before the man got back out of his car and threw a jack handle through the passenger side window of the victim’s car. The victim was struck on the head causing a lump.

"A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and criminal damage. He is currently on police bail."

West Mercia Police is now appealing for anyone who saw the incident to come forward.
