Black Country Ales announced the acquisition of the Three Fishes pub in Bayston Hill just five days ago.
But at around 5.30am on Monday, a lorry crashed through a home on the A49 and right into the side of the pub. The driver suffered a broken leg and had to be cut free.
Now, the Dudley-based pub chain, which already operates several other establishments in Shropshire including The Anvil in Shifnal and The Harp in Albrighton, has spoken out about the incident.
A spokesperson for the company said they were "saddened" by the crash and expressed their best wishes to the driver of the lorry.
