Police catch vehicles exceeding Ludlow speed limit - with one driver doing 37mph

Police have recorded vehicles exceeding the speed limit in Ludlow during a speed enforcement activity.

West Mercia Police PCSO for Ludlow, Beth Francis posted on the force's Neighbourhood Matters page today (Wednesday) after carrying out speed enforcement with inspector Kelly on Sheet Road in Ludlow.

The police officers reported detecting three motorists going above the 30 mph speed limit. Meanwhile, the highest speed recorded was 37 mph.

The post added that 55 vehicles were checked within 30-minutes. The police officers recorded an average speed of 26.5 mph.

The post said: "Speeding can have a devastating impact on the safety of road users, increasing the risk of a collision and the severity of the consequences. If prosecuted for speeding, the minimum penalty is a £100 fine and 3 penalty points.

"Enforcing the speed limit is a 24/7 activity for us so don’t risk it."
