Car fire in Shrewsbury - police and firefighters attend incident

Police were called out to a car fire in Shrewsbury in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened in Sharpstone Lane, Bayston Hill, Shrewsbury - near where a lorry crashed into the Three Fishes pub on Monday morning. Firefighters were also on the scene.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "At 1.39am on Thursday, November 14, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a car fire in Shrewsbury.

"Small hatchback vehicle involved in fire. Crews used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire whilst wearing breathing apparatus."

One fire engine was sent to the scene from Shrewsbury.
